  1. How we use personal data

We collect and use personal data only for lawful purposes and for purposes directly related to our functions and activities. These purposes may include:
• creating and managing your account;
• providing, operating, maintaining, and improving the Service;
• enabling features that depend on uploaded images or other content;
• providing customer support and responding to your requests;

• our legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, and improving the Service, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests;
• your consent, where we ask for it;
• compliance with legal obligations;
• other lawful grounds available under applicable law.

  1. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to run the website and core service functions. Where required by applicable law, we ask for consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies, such as certain analytics or marketing tools.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings, and some app permissions or tracking settings can be managed through your device settings. Disabling some technologies may affect the availability or functionality of parts of the Service.

  1. Direct marketing

We may send you information about our services, updates, promotions, or other communications that may interest you, but only where we have an appropriate lawful basis.

If Hong Kong law applies, we will not use your personal data in direct marketing unless we have provided the notices required by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and obtained consent where required. You may opt out of direct marketing at any time, free of charge.

If EEA or UK law applies, you may object to direct marketing at any time, and if marketing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

  1. Sharing of personal data

We may share personal data with:

  1. International transfers

Soaps.show is operated from Hong Kong and may use service providers in Hong Kong, the EEA, the UK, and other jurisdictions. As a result, personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the country where you are located.

When we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps appropriate to the transfer and the applicable law. Depending on your location and the nature of the transfer, those steps may include:

  1. Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

In general:
• account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to handle support, disputes, legal obligations, fraud prevention, and backup or recovery processes;
• technical logs and diagnostic data are generally kept for shorter periods, except where needed for security investigations, abuse prevention, or legal compliance;
• marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, object, or until we no longer have a lawful basis to keep it;
• uploaded content is kept for as long as needed to provide the relevant feature, unless you delete it earlier or the law requires longer retention.

When personal data is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, unless retention is required by law.

  1. Security

We implement reasonable technical, organizational, and contractual measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized access, disclosure, or other unlawful processing.

No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect personal data in accordance with applicable law.
